Oldham County Chamber of Commerce

Oldham County, rich in the history of Route 66 and Old Tascosa, is located 20 miles west of Amarillo. We have huge herds of cattle, miles of crops, wide-open ranchland and prairies, lots of cowboys, oil and wind energy, genuine people, and home to the small communities of Vega, Adrian, Wildorado, and Boys Ranch. The stars really do shine brighter here! Come see for yourself.

While here, make sure to visit our many AREA ATTRACTIONS, eat at one of our unique home-spun RESTAURANTS, shop at our SPECIALTY STORES, and make plans to attend one of our ANNUAL EVENTS.

Spotlight of the Week!
Featuring Baca Ranches

Baca Ranches was founded in 1997 by Mike and Jan Baca and their sons, Brant and Tye. The operation is primarily ran through buying and feeding out yearling cattle, as well as running a cow/calf operation through parts of Texas and New Mexico. Baca Ranches is headquartered at the ranch north of Vega, Texas. The Baca family was inspired to start Baca Ranches to continue expanding the cattle business of Rafter 3 Feedyard, located in Dimmitt, Texas, that was built by Mike and Jan in 1984. In addition to running yearlings and the cow/calf operation, the Baca family is heavily involved in a variety of horse events, such as competing in high school rodeos, cuttings and cow horse shows. During the summer months, Baca Ranches also makes an appearance in numerous ranch rodeos across the Texas panhandle. Baca Ranches is truly a family atmosphere, and everyone who lives and works on the ranch plays a vital role in the business’s success, helping with the day-to-day tasks it takes to run an operation. The Baca family agrees the most enjoyable part of working on the ranch is that it is a family operation that everyone gets to be a part of. Oldham County and its small town, agricultural-centered atmosphere is one you can’t find just anywhere. Baca Ranches appreciates the attentiveness Oldham County shows its agricultural operations and is proud to be from Vega, Texas.

Thank you Baca Ranches for being part of the Chamber of Commerce and Oldham County!
